Release: National survey proves Aussies are sick of political correctness

“Over 54,000 Australians crushed the hopes of the lefties-in-residence at the ABC by answering their survey with one resounding reality - we are sick of political correctness!”

The Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance, the nation’s largest grassroots advocacy group representing taxpayers, today thanks the ABC for actually publishing a survey showing the public view on political correctness.

“Australians have spoken. People need to learn to toughen up and focus on the real issues. Putting food on the table and keeping the lights on matter more than whether someone’s feelings are hurt because some bloke accidentally said a mean word,” said ATA Policy Director, Emilie Dye.

“Virtually every significant demographic feels the same way. Young or old, male or female, white or aboriginal, wealthy or working class, Liberal or Labor voter - everyone agrees political correctness has gone too far.

“In reality, PC culture harms marginalised groups by alienating them from their peers. People, in general, like people who can laugh at an insult rather than prickling at every other word. Friendships are born and borders are crossed when everyone is allowed to let down their guard.

“Banter is foundational to the Aussie way of life. By enforcing the PC law, woke culture has king punched the Australian culture. It is no surprise, Aussies are hitting back.

“Greens stand alone in their misinformed support for political correctness. It turns out the party of social justice warriors is out of touch with the rest of society. We hope that the Greens, particularly those at the ABC, can learn from this, step away from their radical social justice platform, and return to their environmentalist roots.”
