There’s a good reason real estate agents support Liberal’s new two-pronged housing policy - and it isn’t because they want property prices to drop.
The LNP’s idea rival’s Labor’s for the most stupid and damaging housing policy and it’s set to drive prices UP and increase strain on the market.
The policy will add fuel to fire by letting first homebuyers access up to $50,000 of their superannuation to buy a home. Without an increase in housing supply, more people will be vying for the limited options on the market - armed with an extra $100,000*.
It is a recipe for inflation and will lead to soaring prices, NOT higher levels of home ownership.
The ATA is fighting back against this reckless idea but we need all the help we can get. The only way to stop either Labor or Liberal’s toxic housing policies from destroying the economy is to stand up to them and tell them NO. Australia’s housing market is already in such a delicate position that either one of these insane policies will be another nail in the coffin.
