Vaccine Mandates are Past Their Use-By Date
In December 2021, the Queensland state government introduced mandates barring unvaccinated people from accessing a range of hospitality venues. While the measures were designed to punish unvaccinated individuals for their non-compliance, those who actually suffered were small cafes, hotels and restaurants who once again felt the full brunt of the regulatory squeeze.
Now that Queensland has surpassed its 90% fully vaccinated target, even the flimsy pretext under which these mandates were introduced has fallen by the wayside. We call on the Queensland premier to immediately rescind the mandates preventing Queensland hospitality businesses from operating as they should be.
