Release: Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance hosts event in Dubbo
The Australian Taxpayers' Alliance, the nation's largest grassroots advocacy group representing taxpayers, today announced they are holding an event at the Dubbo RSL Club at 6:00 pm 6 February 2020. They plan to speak out about local issues and connect with people affected by poor government policies. They aim to expose waste in every level of government and from every party.
"Unlike a traditional lobby group paid by corporations to support protectionistic policies, we stand up for the individual," said ATA Policy Director, Emilie Dye. "That is why we encourage people to reach out and share their concerns about government overreach and waste.
"We are funded by the thousands of Australians who support our goals: lowering taxes, reducing nonsensical regulations, and bringing an end to government waste.
"We value the hard work put in by Mick Etheridge and others in our Dubbo chapter. Australia needs people on the ground advocating for the issues most impacting their communities. So many government abuses happen on the local and city levels.
"Meanwhile, in Canberra, politicians sideline the concerns facing rural and regional areas instead catering to loud groups in the city.
"The people of Dubbo want a say in their government. They don't need politicians dropping needless cookie-cutter infrastructure projects into their town, wiping their hands clean, and forgetting the real issues.
"The ATA is pushing for a more efficient, effective, transparent, and accountable government both locally and federally. Policies should represent the interests of the people."
"Everyone is welcome to join us at 6:00 pm 6 February at the RSL Club, " said Mick Etheridge, head of the ATA's Dubbo Branch. "We are expecting a good turn out including local pollies, journos, community members, and just the mildly curious. We look forward to seeing you all there."
